Goffs Greek School (formerly the Brooklands Greek School then St. Mary’s Greek School), was founded in 1982.

Among the founding members were Niki Chrysandreas, Elli Mathris, Margarita Panayiotou, Androulla Bode and Demitris Kokkinou (a councillor, who later went on to become Mayor of Waltham Abbey & Epping). The first School Parents Committee meeting was convened at the home of Androulla Bode, where it was agreed that the Greek Parents Association (G.P.A) would be approached with the intention of instituting a Greek School in the Cheshunt area.

The School was duly formed and begun with twenty pupils, under its first Headmaster Mr. Leonidas Leonidou. Its first premises were at Brooklands Infants School in Cheshunt.

With the efforts of both teachers and parents, the School quickly expanded in classes and pupil numbers. In the years that followed the School outgrew the premises at Brooklands, and with the efforts of the Parents Committee and especially the then Chairperson Dora Poole and the G.P.A Co-ordinator Maria Kazamias, the School relocated to St. Mary’s High School in Cheshunt. In 2009 St. Mary’s High School was to relocate to newly built premises but due to circumstances the Greek school along with others was not permitted to move in with them. The Head Teacher Dr. Kypros Tofallis and Tommy Chrisostomou one of the Co-Chairs along with Andri Constantinides negotiated with the help of Nusrat Khan the Complementary & Supplementary Schools Co-ordinator for Hertfordshire a move to our current school Goffs High School.
